ACDC – The Best Seats Ever!

When I purchased the tickets to ACDC to celebrate Brent getting his driver’s license – they were “Floor 2, row Q, seats 15 and 16” – I knew they were pretty close but did not realize that they were *right next* to the stage where Brian and Angus run out and interact with the crowds. My son Brent got a four separate high fives as Brian ran by singing. This video shows one of the high fives – one of which I caught on iPhone video below!

The show was high-energy from beginning to end. I had to sit down and rest every few songs – but Brian and Angus – never had time to rest – wow! The show was a great mix of the old and new and just the right length and the effects were really fun. The show open with the train was very cool – we never really saw it from the upper rows at the LA concert. It was much more fun to see on the floor in Grand Rapids.
Also just as a note – Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids is a superb place to go to a concert. The Arena is embossed in a downtown area with parking and pubs with a block or two radius. Brent and I arrived two hours early to get a great parking space *across the street* from the arena – and paid only seven dollars! We ate dinner at a small pub within one block of the arena – again arriving two hours early really helped here – as the concert start time approaches *everything fills up*. After the concert – we walked *across the street* to our parking and were out and on the highway in a little over 5 minutes – since the parking is distributed and the traffic radiates outward with no single choke points – traffic does not seem to back up too badly.

Also the Van Andel Arena is a bit smaller than DTE Energy Theater in Clarkson or Cobo Arena – so things seem more intimate. All in all a great place to see a concert – come early have dinner and have a really nice evening.

Metal/Punk Concert: Saturday September 12, at Romeo MI 7PM

Brent’s band A Fatal Masqurade will be playing their first road show at the Static Age Cafe in Romeo, MI (directions).
The tickets for the show cost $8.00 and the show starts at 7PM. There are six bands in the show. It is a great chance for the band to get out and work in a new venue – with a pretty serious set of fellow bands in the show.
They would love to get some fan support from family, friends, folks from Basement 414, and even random strangers!
I hope to see you there. I will probably be busy taping some more live performance video.
